Unmasking with the Values Based Integration Process

Registration

After years of offering my Unmasking coaching to clients, the proof is in – not only does this produce effective, long-term results, but time and again, I hear back from Autistic and neurotypical clients alike that this technique took them where no other mental health approach had even begun to address. However, as we all know, there’s only so much time in the day. As more and more people find out about this technique, I find myself less and less able to meet the demand. So, here’s your chance!

There are two trainings planned for 2026 that you can register for now to be trained in the Values Based Integration Process: one 3-Day Spring Training from March 9th to 11th and one 4-Day Summer Training from July 20th to 23rd. NOTE: Both trainings will cover the same identical material, but are structured in different formats to increase access for a wider range of participants.

3-Day Spring Training (6 hours/day)

  • March 9th, 9:00am – 3:00 pm PDT / 12:00pm – 6:00 pm EDT
  • March 10th, 9:00am – 3:00 pm PDT / 12:00pm – 6:00 pm EDT
  • March 11th, 9:00am – 3:00 pm PDT / 12:00pm – 6:00 pm EDT

4-Day Summer Training (4 hours/day)

  • July 20th, 9:00am – 1:00pm PDT / 12:00pm – 4:00pm EDT
  • July 21st, 9:00am – 1:00pm PDT / 12:00pm – 4:00pm EDT
  • July 22nd, 9:00am – 1:00pm PDT / 12:00pm – 4:00pm EDT
  • July 23rd, 9:00am – 1:00pm PDT / 12:00pm – 4:00pm EDT

The first half of the training covers the rationale behind the method and the “Find Your Why” process, including key areas to consider when working with those on the Autism spectrum, in a mixture of direct training and group break-out sessions. The second half builds on this material to introduce the concept of messages and to learn how values can be used to process messages with clients, creating movement and growth in areas that previously seemed impossibly fixed and stuck.

The same material is covered in the 3-Day and 4-Day trainings as in our previous 2-Day trainings; it’s just divided up over more days, giving you more time for processing and integration between sessions.

Handouts for all tools covered will be offered throughout the training.

PLEASE NOTE: Whether you attend the 4-Day training or the 3-Day training, these are all intensive and immersive trainings. You will be paired up with a partner or placed in a group of three at the beginning of the training, and you will actively participate in the experience of the VBIP yourself as both coach and client. We cannot pass on what we haven’t first experienced ourselves and come to trust in our own bodies!

If you are a mental health worker (e.g., coach, therapist, clinical counsellor, or social worker), especially if you work with adults on the Autism spectrum, those coming out of high-control religious environments, or those who have experienced trauma that has undermined a sense of self, this training is for you!

Four Important Notes:

1. This is an intensive training. The days are long, the material is deep, the delivery is experiential, and the homework prior to the first session and between each training session is necessary to be able to participate in the training. Please schedule other commitments for this time with these factors in mind. Please also plan for your own self-care in the days leading up to and following this training: good hydration, plenty of rest, and appropriate sensory supports.

2. This is an immersive training. We cannot offer our own clients the embodied trust necessary for this process without first experiencing its transformative effects in our own bodies. As such, you will be paired up with 1-2 partners for the duration of the training and will be expected to actively participate in both the client and coaching roles.

3. This training has been developed using modes of Universal Design for Learning. In many cases, the bulk of our trainees are themselves neurodivergent, and they seek to work with a neurodivergent client base, so we center teaching and learning strategies that actively benefit neurodivergent learners. This means that participants are encouraged to look after their bodies throughout the training – to move, stim, turn their cameras off, take bio breaks as needed, or whatever else will help to best concentrate on the material at hand. However, if you have any accessibility needs you would like to discuss in advance, please don’t hesitate to send me an email so that we can make sure those needs are accommodated in advance.

4. Due to the nature of the material, you MUST attend each day of the training to be able to attend the days following.

A reminder that trainings require a minimum of 30 participants to run. If you are eager to participate in these trainings, please help spread the word!

About the program

In 2017 I was newly self-diagnosed with atypical autism, struggling with burnout, and striking out when it came to therapists who could address the issues I was facing. At the same time, I was building skills around life coaching, shame reduction, and trauma-informed therapy for work. Gradually I realized that what I needed – an embodied, autonomous, agency-driven coaching approach to unmasking – was not something I was going to find “out there”, but something I was going to need to create if I wanted to recover my life. This was the moment the Values Based Integration Process was born.

Having developed the program for myself – and having seen the incredible results it brought in my own life – I began to use it with coaching clients. The results were out of this world!

After conversations with Dr. Devon Price, the technique was featured in his book Unmasking Autism. With it, came interest in the technique and the decision was made to begin training coaches and therapists to help make this toolkit more readily available.
