Unmasking with the Values Based Integration Process

Foundations

It’s a cold and snowy morning but our footings for our foundation went in this morning.

These footings have been in the works for a couple of weeks now. The bars have all been carefully aligned so that the forms will fit onto them perfectly – apparently they are accurate to within 1/16th of an inch!!!

We talk a lot in coaching about building a firm foundation, but what about the footings that will hold that foundation up?

Gonna have to give that some thought…

These are foundations. Not just any foundations – but OUR foundations, for OUR new house, that got poured today on our #accessiblehome project here in #barrie

One of the things that I’ve realised the past few weeks as these have been built is how critical it is that these foundations be utterly unique to the house we want to build. There is no changing the shape of the house after this. Sure, we can move some interior walls around a bit – add or subtract a door – change the finishes or fixtures – but THIS foundation will only build a house that’s THIS shape.

So, here’s my question – do you know what your foundations are? Do you know what your values are – the things that anchor you to a grounded state of being? If you don’t, maybe it’s time to discover what those are.

If you DO, then I have a second question – are you building a house on the foundations you ACTUALLY have? Are you living consistently with those values, or are you out of step? If you keep feeling out of sorts – disconnected – grasping at straws or swaying in the wind – then it might be time to reconnect with your foundation.

2020 is just around the corner, and a new year – a new decade – can be a great opportunity to begin this journey. Get in touch – let’s get this conversation started!

About the program

In 2017 I was newly self-diagnosed with atypical autism, struggling with burnout, and striking out when it came to therapists who could address the issues I was facing. At the same time, I was building skills around life coaching, shame reduction, and trauma-informed therapy for work. Gradually I realized that what I needed – an embodied, autonomous, agency-driven coaching approach to unmasking – was not something I was going to find “out there”, but something I was going to need to create if I wanted to recover my life. This was the moment the Values Based Integration Process was born.

Having developed the program for myself – and having seen the incredible results it brought in my own life – I began to use it with coaching clients. The results were out of this world!

After conversations with Dr. Devon Price, the technique was featured in his book Unmasking Autism. With it, came interest in the technique and the decision was made to begin training coaches and therapists to help make this toolkit more readily available.
